A Farewell, and a Sale! 9/20/2026

Every summer as I enjoy the last of the warm weather, I start to plan ahead for prime knitting and crocheting season! This year, I’ve put much thought into the future of Twitchy Hands. The last few years, from a purely business perspective, have been particularly rough.

Each new month seems to bring unexpected challenges that need to be sorted out – sudden, steep, and complicated tariffs on all of our products; continual increases in shipping costs along with repeated changes to shipping methods; unprecedentedly sharp hikes in the cost of raw materials; an unexpected and unexplained disabling of our social media accounts with no recourse; and the list goes on.

For this one-woman small business, the challenges have become overwhelming, and I no longer find much joy in what used to be a dream job. Many of our outstanding products are becoming unaffordable for quite a few of our long-time, devoted customers. More and more time is required to maintain the system, which means less and less is available for engaging with customers, showcasing our fabulous yarns and tools, and spending with my family.

So I’ve come to the difficult decision to close down the Twitchy Hands webstore. Starting today, select addi tools, listed below, are 40% off. Over the next few weeks, I’ll continue to add more and more products to this list until everything is gone. My usual 20% addi discount will remain active until items are further discounted. Plus, all yarns are currently 30% off; this discount will increase steadily as well.

I want to give a huge “Thank You!” to all of my customers over the years; you’ve truly made this a special, treasured chapter in my life. I hope to continue to be involved in the yarn world – designing under the Twitchy Hands name, engaging with other crafters at fiber festivals in the PNW area, and perhaps (finally) making it to a local stitch night!
