Big Changes for Twitchy Hands – July 31, 2026

There are some big changes happening here at the Twitchy Hands offices. After much thought and consideration, we’ve decided to discontinue our Fleece Artist and Hand Maiden yarn inventories. These amazing lines continue to be some of the highest quality hand-dyed yarns available, and we’ve been honored to carry them for so many years. However, due to changes in a variety of factors (including tariffs, shipping costs, availability, etc.) we feel we need to shift our current focus.

So we’ll be liquidating our current yarn inventory. All remaining Fleece Artist and Hand Maiden yarns will go on sale starting Monday, August 3. They will all start at 10% off, then the discount will continue to grow over the next few weeks. Be sure to check in to find some great deals on fantastic yarns! Once it’s gone, we will not be getting more.

Our inventory of addi needles, hooks, and accessories will remain as is. All addi items are still 20% off MSRP and carry a lifetime guarantee. And all domestic orders of $100+ receive free shipping!

New Free Shipping Policy Update – 7/15/2026

Here at Twitchy Hands, we’ve always taken great pride in offering the best shipping rates in the industry – all domestic orders received free shipping with no minimum purchase! It’s been an honor to extend such a curtesy to our customers for so many years.

However, as USPS prices continue to increase, and shipping and transportation charges on our incoming inventory climb higher and higher, we have no choice but to update our free shipping policy. Starting immediately, all domestic orders under $100US will be charged actual shipping costs, and domestic orders over $100US will qualify for free shipping. Of course, upgrades to expedited delivery services will continue to be available.

For our international customers, unfortunately we are no longer able to offer a free shipping option. All international packages are charged actual shipping costs depending on the package size and destination.

This is a huge change for Twitchy Hands, and we do not take it lightly. We will continue to strive to offer the highest quality products at competitive prices, while offering top-notch customer service. Holiday Shipping Deadlines – Dec 16, 2025

The holidays are quickly approaching, and there’s still time to get your favorite knitter or crocheter (or yourself!) the perfect gift! The USPS suggests the following ship-by dates for delivery by Dec 25, 2025 within the contiguous US.

Dec 17 – Last day to ship First Class Mail/Ground Advantage (our free shipping option)
Dec 18 – Last day to ship Priority Mail
Dec 20 – Last day to ship Priority Mail Express

These ship-by dates are the best recommendations the USPS can provide, and are not guarantees. More information on holiday shipping can be found on the USPS website.

Our last shipment from Hand Maiden is finally up on the site (its been a busy month)! We received some of the always delightful Hand Maiden Sea Silk, a wonderfully unique and dreamy fingering weight blend. Sea Silk has unparalleled shine and drape, making it the perfect choice for lacy scarves or shawls and luxurious tops.

What’s New – addi Ewenicorn Crochet Hooks

We’ve just received the latest addition to our tool collection – the addi Ewenicorn Crochet Hooks! They are truly beautiful. The handle is made of purpleheart wood, and features a spiral design reminiscent of their namesake’s horn. It’s lightweight and comfortable in the hand. The shank features addi’s patented hook design rendered in an ultra smooth anodized aluminum. These Ewenicorn Crochet Hooks bring a touch of magic to any project!

Available in sizes US A-C and E-J. Each hook is about 6″ long, with the shank measuring at approximately 1.5″. These hooks carry addi’s lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

News and Labor Day Sale – Aug 29, 2025

Heading into the Labor Day weekend I have news to share regarding yarns coming in from Fleece Artist/Hand Maiden. As of today, there is no longer a “de minimus” exemption on international packages coming into the country; this change was scheduled to happen in July 2027, but a recent executive order changed the timeline. Thus, our yarn shipments from Fleece Artist/Hand Maiden, located in Nova Scotia, Canada are now subject to additional duties/tariffs.

This is a major change for Twitchy Hands, as well as for Fleece Artist/Hand Maiden, and for our valued customers. In order to ensure that they are in full compliance with these tariff changes, Fleece Artist/Hand Maiden has suspended all of their shipments into the US as they learn the details of the new system. This means that we are unable to accept special orders at this time, and that our current yarn inventory is all that is available for the near future.

Some of our yarn bases are produced in Canada, and will not see additional tariffs. However, some yarns, particularly the Swiss Mountain line of silks, could see applicable tariffs of up to 39%. This will mean a potentially large price increase for those yarns when new batches begin to arrive.

Twitchy Hands will do everything possible to keep our prices reasonable, and we’ll be completely transparent when the time comes for changes; until then, we’ll keep our yarns at their current prices. And if you see something silky in our yarn collection that calls to you, we encourage you to grab it, just in case we don’t see more for a while!

We’ve heard from our addi rep that prices on most products will be increasing as of September 01, 2025. So Twitchy Hands will be implementing these updates on Friday, September 5, 2025. Rest assured, though, that we will continue to offer our perpetual discount of 20% on all addi products!

When you select an addi product on our website, you’ll see two prices – the first (higher) price with the line through it is the MSRP; the second (lower) price is the discounted price. The discounted price is automatically applied in the shopping cart.
